Many athletes compete for first time and bring exciting hardware back to Quinte

(BELLEVILLE, ON, Mar. 5, 2024) – On Saturday, March 2nd and Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, Pegasus Cheer athletes competed at the Spirit Sports Canadian Clash competition. Five teams competed, earning the following placements:

  • Opal (All Star Elite Open Level 2.0 Non-Tumble, ages 16+) – First Place and
    National Champions
  • Ruby (Novice U8 Level 1, ages 5 to 8) – Superior Performance
  • Emerald (Novice U12 Level 1, ages 8 to 12) – Superior Performance
  • Amethyst (All Star Elite U16 Level 2.0 Non-Tumble, ages 12 to 16) – Third Place
  • Sapphire (All Star Prep U12 Level 1, ages 8 to 12) – Third Place

Held at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa, Canadian Clash marked the first performance for many of these Pegasus athletes.

“We could not be more proud of our teams, especially our Novice athletes who competed for the first time this weekend, hit zero (meaning no deductions or errors), and took the highest placement of Superior Performance in the Novice division,” says Melissa Ouellet, coach of Emerald and Amethyst. “It’s great to see our athletes progressing, learning new skills, and having a ton of fun. They are the future of cheerleading!”
